beta 3 do not start was created by paco
Hi
I am trying to start the caelinux beta 3
I download and use \"unrar e\" to create the iso.
The iso was created without problem.
I burn the dvd live without problem with k3b
Finally I try to start the beta but it only start with this message
Loading stage 2 ....
and never start.
I burn another dvd with the same result.

After verification, there seem to be a corruption of the files on the web server. This explains the different MD5sum : 16649043e41dd826e7c5f540e77fff58 for the ISO on the web and
46ba19798e4006dad25687a979339f73 for the reference.
But what is strange is that after unpacking the ISO from the downloaded RAR archive, I can successfully run the ISO as a live DVD in VMWare, so the corruption does not explain completely your problem with Grub - stage 2...
Could you try unpacking the RAR archive in Windows with Winrar 3.xx and burning with Nero as this is my reference test... (sorry, but I am testing the ISO at work => on Windows).
Anyway, this afternoon, I will publish fixed RAR archives with \"recovery\" record to help in the detection of corruption problems.
Thank you for your feedback and all my apologizes for this problem.

Win RAR gave me a message that Part 2 of the file is corrupt, could you check that it is not corrupt on the server.
! C:\Documents and Settings\Robin Borland\Desktop\CAELinuxBeta3b-ISO.part2.rar: CRC failed in CAELinuxBeta3b.iso. The file is corrupt
Thanks
Robin

It is a little ridiculous that I need windows in order to get caelinux.
My operative system at home is caelinux and at the work I use unix.
I am really ignorant men in windows so I prefer to wait for more acceptable caelinux version for linux

to Espinola:
Its up to you...
if you want to use another OS to decompress the RAR archive, it is also possible with the command line tools available on www.rarlab.com (BSD, Linux, Mac OS,.. even DOS!)
I am using RAR 3.x to compress CAELinux as it is one of the best compression algorithm out there. As you can imagine, providing such large files for download is not trivial task and the background of the potential users is extremelly wide.
So if you have a better suggestion for the packaging, feel free to comment.
To rborland:
I have checked the files on the servers and they are 100% OK.
You will probably need to re-download the corrupt file. Sorry.
