Problem with IGES file was created by Andrea
Hi everybody,
I'm new in this forum. I need help with the analysis performed after importing IGES files.
I'm using Caelinux 2013 in Virtual Box (then the SO is not native).

These are the fases I followed:

1. I imported the IGES file in Salome (Geometry Module)
2. Maked a new shell from the IGES and, after, a new Solid from the shell.
3. After that, in the mesh module, i created a new 3D mesh from the Solid (with Netgen 3D). All worked well and in the info file there are the volume Finite Elements.
4. Created the group for loads and costraints.
5. In the Aster Module I used the wizard "static analysis" but, when I clicked on "run the analysis", it hasn't started.

I did the same with a cube created in the Geometry Module and it worked perfectly.

Ah! Of course the IGES file is correct (I used a file already used with Ansys). Using another IGES, as a check, I had the same problem (All the IGES are exported from Tekla Structures).

The file is at the link below, if someone would like to check

Thank you very much
A.F.

I can successfully create a 3D mesh from the IGES, so that shouldn't be the problem.

I can't open the study (hdf file); probably because we use different Salomé versions, so please attach the .mess file here so we can trace the error.

Hi Claus,
In the previously dropbox link there are all the files in the folder of the analisy.
I don't have a .mess file because the analisy literally doesn't start.
I click on Run button but I don't see nothing.
I don't have any error message and I don't see in the Object Browser the Post-Pro link.
(I use Salome 6_6_0).
If it's useful I can use your Salome version so you can see the .hdf file.

Best regards,
Andrea

Try the new 2014.2 version of 'MECA then. If that doesn't work, then at least I can open the files :)

I Claus,
I tried with the new Salome-Meca. I have the same problem! :( :(
In the link below there are all the project files (in Salome Meca 2014_2) and obviously ther is not a .mess file

It's a mystery!

There's a white space in the folder address. Try removing that :)
