Salome-Meca-2009.1 Released was created by Joël Cugnoni
Dear CAELinux / Salome-Meca users,
I am very happy to announce that EDF has released a new version of the Salome-Meca stand-alone package which as you probably all know contains the Salome Pre-Post, Code-Aster solver and the Code-Aster module for Salome, pre-compiled and packaged all together to be totally independent of your Linux distribution.
The Salome-Meca-2009.1 GPL package contains is based on the latest versions of Salome (v4.1.6) and Code-Aster (v9.4).
At the moment, only the 32 bit binaries are available, but the 64bit version is under development and will be released soon.
As usual, this package can be downloaded here on CAELinux.com.
For more information / download:

it seems to me that the button "download 2009.1" actually send you to download the 2008.1

Code_Aster release : STA11.4 on OpenSUSE 12.3 64 bits - EDF/Intel version

That is indeed great news! Lets hope this increases the userbase.
As it is now, I have limited HD space and even a limited IN connection - can I get a description of the Aster modules (wizard) ? Is it the same modules as the previous but updated, or are there some new ones among?
I have CA9.4 and Sa 4.1.4 installed right now.
Great effort, I'm really thrilled to hear this news!
edit: Indeed the download points to 2008.1
I says Salomé 4.1.6 what are the changes from 4.1.4?<br /><br />Post edited by: Claus, at: 2009/03/15 08:13

the right direction is:
ftp : //cae-linux : salome @ caelinux.dyndns.org / packages/salome-meca-2009.1/SALOME-MECA-2009.1-GPL-i386.tgz
New Salome 4.1.4 (and 4.1.6) has a bug where it is impossible to change the name of rapresentation when the displacement is showed as "deformed shape". so the name will be something as "SolLin__DEPL________________0, INCONNUE" without the possibility to change it in something else.
Aster wizards are present, but I didn't used it yet.<br /><br />Post edited by: Alessandro, at: 2009/03/15 08:54
