taking too long to download was created by Charles Ramsey
My library is censoring direct downloads and file sharing programs. I can use emule through hotspot shield but there is no emule file. I managed to download caelinux at McDonalds using utorrent this took 30 hours the distro won't load and hangs at 35 percent so the file must be corrupt. I am not going to spend 30 more hours to download it again nor am I going to seed a possibly corrupt file. Solutions to this problem are load the file at rapidshare or megaupload megaupload is better there is less wait time for free users. Divide the file into l pieces using winrar perhaps 200 megabytes each. Or seed it at emule. I'm traveling at the moment so mail is hard to get but if I did buy a copy I would pay extra to have it put directly on an SD camera card or a USB key they make read only cards now but I don't know how much they cost. possibility number 3 would be to load ubuntu and add the other files one at a time using the net.

Have you tried a download manager that allows resuming of files?
Unless you happen to be travelling in Denmark, I can't help you out otherwise

Don't you have cybercafes where you live? I ask seriously, in my country they are still common because not everybody has access to or can pay broadband, and if you happen to have I think there's a high probabality they have connections faster than 5Mbps, which would mean you can download the ISO in less than 2hs and burn it.

One final thought emule is capable of detecting and correcting corrupt files this happens frequently emule will request 180kb of a file and correct automatically.
