MultiThreading was created by James Farinha
Hello,
I am very new to CAE Linux (and Linux in general) and used it for the first time this afternoon.
I created my own geometry and mesh with Salome, made computation with OpenFOAM and visualized my results with Paraview, it is realy great! Developpers made great job, may god bless them.
Yet, I saw that I was using only one core out of my 6 while using and computing with these softs. Is there a way to use 100% of my CPU (aka Multithreading) or is it not possible?
Thanks you for answering!

You'll have to look at how you utilize multiple cores with OpenFOAM specifically.

And what about Salome?
Google is bringing me back here when I search for Salome Multi-threading. I am still using only one core.
Thanks if you got any information on that.
I made it with OpenFOAM since the last time and am now a bit more experienced.

No multi threading in Salome as far as I know, unfortunately. The open source meshers are sequential. Im uncertain about the commercial plug-ins.

Dear NoradFirst,
I started using Linux since 2003. I just love the capabilities of Linux. Very happy to know that there is CAE version of Linux which I figured out when I started working on CAE and CFD.
1. With commercial CAE solver, I have observed it used more RAM. Not sure if it uses more cores. I work on octacore processor.
2. Commercial CFD code can use multiple cores easily provided the licenses for all cores are purchased. It comes as each core license or bundle like 8 cores and 16 cores.
Thank you.
