No Sound was created by Olivier
Hi,
I have installed the liveCD on may hard disk. It seems to work, but I have no sound....
The message is something like \"no /dev/dsp file\".
The sound worked normally before, when I booted on the liveCD.
Did you have the same issue ? And did you find a solution ?
Regards,
Olivier

What I have done....
I added root and olivier (my user name) to the \"audio\" group.
Now, When make an alsaconf (as root), it gives results, and I'm able to play sounds.
But, unfortunately, I have to do this each time I restart the computer.
Do you have an idea to include this task (or something else) in the boot sequence ?
Regards,
Olivier.

Hi Olivier,
I am running as root on my machine (I know it's evil !!! ), and I have no sound issue.
What you can do is:
- add the command in your .bashrc
- or try to create a .Xinit file in your home dir
- or try to put it in one of the init script in /etc/rc.d/rc5.d (there are allready some script for alsa there)
If you need more help on this, try the PcLinuxOs forums, I am pretty sure, they have a complete answer!!
Regards,
Joël
