Seems to be 90% doing what it is supposed to. If I generate my own mesh (which seems to work) I cannot solve it...it stops immediately and give me something about "keyerror" "Value=6" but I haven't been able to figure it out. If I take the mesh from somone else (thanks claus....who is also on F8) I can solve and display results. I've verified the .tar (with md5sum) that I installed from and it's okay. It seems to create the mesh (using several different methods, different tutorials and different models) without any errors, displays it and lets me continue. I'm convinced it's something in the a script that looks in the wrong location but I'm not sure where to start looking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to move on and start spending my time working on actual models instead of all this testing to see whether or not the program works.

UPDATE: I have Fedora 9 now and the install of Salome went perfectly and everything works great....been through several quick examples and I'm not getting the errors.

Woohoo!
