Problems installing CAELinux 2009 from LiveDVD was created by Dupront
Hello,
I am trying to install caelinux 2009 from the live dvd
on an imac 27 i7 with a ati radeon hd 4850 graphic card.
The first problem appears at step 3 of the installation.
The keyboard configuration does not work. After I select
french then macintoch and try to continue I get the following
message:
partman crashed
partman failed with exit code 10
and I get nowhere trying any of the suggested options:
quit - continue anyway - try again
Also I tried other keyboard configurations with the same
result.
I would really appreciate any help.
Thank in advance
Michel

Check out a possible solution here.
ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=792156
Have you tried assigning a generic 102 US keyboard just for giggles? You can alway change the key-map (and perhaps timezones as well) when you have CAE installed correctly.

Claus

Thank you for your answer.
I tried with the USA language and keyboard but
the problem remained the same.
I have to mention here that the installation was
made for a virtual machine using Parallels Desktop.
Also I just tried to make the installation booting
on the live dvd with the options "live" and "install". Each time
it started and finally stopped the process and gave me
the prompt:
initramfs
At this point I don't really know what to do ...
Maybe I will try to boot with another options.
