Beta 3b -> 2007 examples?

The user interface in Salome has changed much in 2007 verion, concerning the creation of the mesh. Examples for Salome 2.2.2 are not valid for 3.2.6.

So, for JMLtutorial1, "perforated cube", how must the Mesh be created?
Mesh arrangement shown above, leads to Error:

I followed the piston tutorial, which seems to use the newer version:
