New FE Study script

New FE Study script was created by Boloni
Hello,
I was using the CAElinux and when I wanted to create a new study, I just clicked on the button Create New FE Study.
Now, I've installed code aster (separately) on a different machine and don't have any buttons at all. I've managed to launch it, but I seem to not find how to create a new FE study.
I suppose it is a script that should be installed, or maybe it works with a command line. So any guidance in order to make this work would be highly appreciated.

Interest: structural mechanics, solar energy (picture at 'my location' shows too little pv panels)

Hi Francisc
normally I start Code Aster by ASTK (which should be installed with CA as well). I define the various files (med/mesh, comm, base, err, mess, res, etc or copy a similar astk file from elsewhere) in ASTK and then start CA by hitting the <run> button.
I start ASTK by the following script (ubuntu/linux):
### script for running ASTK (code aster) in SALOMECA2009
cd /cae/salomeca2009/SALOMECA2009/aster/ASTK/ASTK_CLIENT/bin/
./astk
Of course you have to adapt the path to your own configuration (but
the ..../aster/astk/.../bin/ should be there).
Of course II:
Alessandro beats me in the CA forum. I only saw that after I posted this here.

Thanks a lot Kees,
now I'm comforted by the idea that there is nothing special to be done in order to create a new project, it seems to be an installation problem finally. As I've already posted on the CA forum, we can continue the discussion there if you have an idea on how to solve my problem.

the New FE Study GUI is a small python utility that I wrote to automate the creation of standard ASTER cases...
You can find the script and some informations about it here:

sorry it is not 100% up to date, but it should work;
you may also need to change some paths in the 1st line of the CreateJob.py script to accomodate your own installation!

Thanks a lot. This means I will be able to use the CreateJob.py to do what New FE Study used to do.
I will try to configure it as soon as I get aster running, because for the moment I have bigger problems.
