Problem running was created by Bob
I am new to Linux and I had a problem running ASTK on the LiveDVD, so I installed CAELinux on my hd. I am having the same problem trying to open ASTK. When I try to open ASTK I get the following error message, in a window labeled ERROR:

extra characters after close-quote
extra characters after close-quote
while executing
\"ashare::attend couldn't execute \"rsh\": no such file or directory
/tmp/astk_bob/.file_rexec_outerr_1256334877 .fen_about\"
(\"after\" script)

I also get the following MESSAGE log file:

a Session started : 18/05/2006 - 23:23:16
File/Directory not found: /home/bob/.astkrc/prefs

I used this same LiveDVD on a different computer and ASTK worked fine, except I had memory problems with that computer so I have to use on a different computer.

Thank you.

Hello,

this problem seems to come from the ASTK configuration files.

Could you try to run it as one of the predefined user: root or guest to check this. Normally, root & guest have already configured settings in their profile.

Also, try to copy /root/.astkrc directory in your /home/YourUserName folder. This should copy the predefined settings for ASTK to your own profile.

Good luck
