Hello,

I have an ordinary circular part for injection moulding. It has all drafts and round. Meshing this part on the laptop with up to date Ubuntu and 2Gb memory (+ swap space of At least 2Gb) has problem creating the mesh. I get always an error some thing like 'not enough memory allocated' Even If I try a rather coarse mesh.
The size of the part is arround 67mm by 60mm. I use the wizard tetrahedral (no quadratic) with an element size of 15. When using element size smaller than 5 the part only partial meshes.

How can I debug this mesh problem?

Hello,

the Mefisto algorith has some problems with certain types of circular surfaces, and sometime generate incredibly small elements in that region. As it is a recurrent problem, I propose that you post this issue on Salome forums at www.salome-platform.org, maybe they will take this comment into account for the next versions...

In the meantime, you can try to use the Netgen 1D-2D-3D algorithm; it replaces all the other hypothesis but creates usually good quality meshes (sometimes too fine...) but is very slow. While calculating the mesh, look in the console to see the progress of the algo.

Good luck,
