				Hello,
Having done finite elements till my studies, there are more than ten years, I have to model a complex problem: a flexible water reservoir on which various efforts are apply.
Wishing to work in open source, I sought a software able to do that. My question is: what do you recommend?
Salome +code aster code saturn or
Salome +elmer
or....
In short, what tools you think are best suited to my work, so as not to increase learning software before solving my problem.
Sorry for my bad english and thanks in advance,
Jluc Mercier

Hello - it's depends highly on the the problem you want to study. FSI (fluid/structure interaction) isn't straightforward, and coupling between the codes isn't very mature - although someone recently made his own interface for Code_Aster and Code_Saturne on the CA forum.
If you don't need to couple CFD code with mechanical code, Code_Aster offers models for fluid.
I think one of the relevant posts about it, would be this one:
www.code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?id=14072
It seems Elmer has FSI capabilities, but I have never used Elmer myself, but have a look here:
www.csc.fi/english/pages/elmer/examples/...led_problems/hemodyn
www.csc.fi/english/pages/elmer/examples
Regards,
Claus

On the side of the fluid-oriented software, you can also try Code_Saturne's mobile mesh capabilities. Check here code-saturne.info/products/code-saturne/...ow-modeling-examples the "Flow around cylinder..." and "Blood flow..." examples which may give you some insight in what you want to do. Fortunately Aster, Saturne and Salome are developed by the same company, so that's a plus.
OpenFoam has also fluid-structure coupling capabilites combining two solvers of the same code. I now it's been done.
In case you wonder, I have zero experience with these cases, sorry
