CAELinux is a full Xubuntu 18.04 LTS system, so you possibly can install LXDE/LXQT on top of it like in a Xubuntu to Lubuntu conversion (not sure it's worth the hassle).
I believe you could also use Joel's scripts (you may find a link somewhere in this forum, they're in the Wiki, as far as I remember) to make "your own" CAELinux.
