Memory problems was created by Teresa Sánchez
Hi everybody again,

I am trying to simulate a very complex problem with 1d, 2d and 3d elements and I think that I have problems with the memory. Does anybody know if Code-Aster has limitations in memory?

This is the result I have obtained:

--- NOMBRE TOTAL DE NOEUDS : 113636 DONT :
2292 NOEUDS "LAGRANGE"
--- NOMBRE TOTAL D'EQUATIONS : 436761
--- NOMBRE DE COEFFICIENTS NON NULS DANS LA MATRICE : 7614042

! Erreur numique (floating point exception). !

! Cette erreur est fatale. Le code s'arrete. !
! Il y a probablement une erreur dans la programmation. !

What do you think the problem could be?

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Tere.

I think this is not a problem of memory but a ill conditioned problem. Looking in the Code-Aster-Forum for "floating point exception" I find for example that it can be caused by a rigid body mode in a (linear) static analysis (see www.code-aster.org/forum/read.php?f=12&i=6503&t=6414)
