Hello All,

It's all it the subject of this post. A few days ago, I decided to register on the Code_Aster forum and I got the following message:
"This forum is not accepting new registrations."

I have used their contact form to ask if this was a temporary limitation, and if so, for how long this was meant to last.

Several days later, I am still waiting for an answer. So I figured someone here might know what's going on. Any clue?

I am in the process of selecting a set of open source simulation tools and Code_Aster seems to be my best bet for the FEA part.
However, the least I would expect from an open source solution that is to be used in a semi-professional context, is that it encourages all users to join a strong online community in order to mitigate limited access to traditional support. Not having access to the main user forum would be a show stopper for me.

Many thanks!
/T.

I had the same issue. I finished my thesis using code_aster and now using it in my research projects. But I was not able to register to the forum. I saw people introducing themselves in "Introduce Yourself" forum, recent one was on Nov 30th. This seems weird to me because when I try to register it says This forum is not accepting new registrations.

I looked into some threads where they discussed this issue. The forum administrator was complaining about Spam eamils they received, so they closed new registration. But I think this is not supposed to be the reason for accepting new members in Code-Aster community. I am just hoping that they make a better solution for new registration soon instead of closing the door for new members. :)

Update: I've heard from EDF and although my understanding is that they do intend to reopen access to forum registration (that's for the good news), there was no indication about when this would happen.
