Maxima problem

Hi I'm trying to do some works with csv file format, and anytime that I try to read them i a script i receive this error from the shell:

numericalio: expected a string, instead found a ?cons
-- an error. To debug this try: debugmode(true);

Can anyone indicate me a solution.
