Hello,

I am trying to run SalomeMeca2008 in a freshly installed Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy Heron) PC and when I type:

/opt/SALOME-MECA-2008.1-GPL/runSalomeMeca &

I get:

/opt/SALOME-MECA-2008.1-GPL/SALOME-MECA/V3_2_9/prerequis-SalomeMeca-V3_2_9.sh: line 1: /opt/SALOME-MECA-2008.1-GPL/SALOME/SALOME3/V3_2_9NoDebug/../prerequis/debianForSalome-v1_2_0/bin/dirname: No such file or directory

Any ideas?

Hi JMB

why do you want to run Salome at background and use the & at the end of the command? In case I use the ampersand, Salome will not start up either but runs fine without it.

kind regards - kees

Interest: structural mechanics, solar energy (picture at 'my location' shows too little pv panels)

Hello Kees Wouters,

I think, I had tried it without the ampersand at the end and it made no difference. I did ultimately solve this problem by installing the ia32-libs. I posted this in another thread of this forum, but forgot to mention it here. I appreciate your looking at my problem in order to help. Thank you!
