problem with mesh of first piston example in caelinux2010 was created by vincent calard
The new live caelinux is very impressive.
I am a newbee and try the first example : piston.
However i note a bug (I guess) in the first example with the piston: the mesh module gives an error, see attached picture.
Is it my failure ?

Dear Vincent,
actually it is not a bug, but a change in the way Salome import CAD parts:
in the new version it seems that Salome changes the units of the part from mm to SI (meter) by dividing all coordinates by 1000.
Thus the recommended mesh size for the piston should also be divided by 1000. Something like 0.004 should work.
The error you see is caused by a too coarse mesh size that cannot yield a proper, clean and closed surface meshand thus it fails.

Hi,
does a possibility exist to prevent Salome converting the CAD model to the SI system or can we only scale it ourselves after importing the model?
Regards,
Arnold
