Mesh generation for Saturne Tutorial in Salme was created by hooman
Hi,
I am new to both Salome and Saturne. I was trying to go through the Saturne 2-rc1 tutorial. I have generated the geometry but am not sure how to generate the mesh in Salome considering the increase and increase in the size of the elements. Could you please let me know how I can obtain that!
Also I know that for Code-Saturne a 3D mesh is needed. So do I need to extrude the geometry or do I extrude one I've obtained a 2D mesh?
Please find the tutorial (tutorial.pdf (5.9 MB)) from this link towards the end of the page. I am doing the first example:

Many Thanks,

This is how you make a "2D" mesh in Salome for Saturne:
www.caelinux.org/wiki/index.php/Contrib:...de-Saturne_CFD_study
Just set the wire discretization for the general mesh (not the submesh) so that you get only one element depth, for example using Nb Elements=1 or Average Length=extrusion height.
Submeshes are the only way to control easily mesh characteristics (including element size) in different parts of the same geometry.Perhaps that answers your first question?
