Code_Aster release : STA11.4 on OpenSUSE 12.3 64 bits - EDF/Intel version

Check the folder you use for the tutorial for a .mess file. If there is one, look at it and see if you can spot the error, otherwise post here.
If there isn't a .mess file there, have a look in /home/username/flasheur - there should be a bunch of time-stamped files. Have a look at the 'o' file and see if you can spot the error, otherwise post here.

I'm having this same problem. In the 'o' file I'm getting WARNING: ASTK server version 1.10.2 differs from ASTK client version 1.10.0. I'm using the stable version of CAE Linux 2011. It appears the Salome interface is calling an incorrect version of ASTER. Is this correct? If so, how can this be fixed?

Hm, try posting it at the Code Aster forum under SaloméMECA - I don't know too much about the underlying mechanics of ASTK server/client

Hello, everyone. Just started using CAELinux 2011 and have the problem that seems to be like the topicstarter had.
I'm tryin to do a new case in Aster, but Qt-subapplication window doesn't allow to finish the procedure anyhow whether I try to do a case via wizard or to do a new case. No way.
As I've searched for the solution it may have something to do with:
1. Compiz to Kwin switching - that I don't know how to do.
2. Write permission - that's also is mistery for me 'case I'm a lamer. How to find out where to store files in order to have a permission. But I can create files anyway. Maybe that means that I have that permission?
Maybe the thing is that I'm using a case that I brought from CAELinux 2008?
Thx in advance.
