OpenFOAM cavity tutorial Permission denied. was created by Andrew Bermel
Hello,

I tried to run the cavity tutorial for OpenFOAM and when I typed in the command "blockMesh" my terminal said,

Writing polyMesh

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Failed writing polyMesh.

From function blockMesh
in file blockMeshApp.C at line 336.

FOAM exiting

When I typed in the command "paraFoam" this is what my terminal said.

kiteboatproject@kiteboatproject:/opt/openfoam201/tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity$ paraFoam
touch: cannot touch `cavity.OpenFOAM': Permission denied
created temporary 'cavity.OpenFOAM'

I don't know how to fix Permission denied.

Please help.

Thank you

Replied by Andrew Bermel on topic Re: OpenFOAM cavity tutorial Permission denied.
when I type the command "gedit ~/.bashrc"

the last line reads

# source variables for CAELinux packages
. /opt/.bashrc-CAE

the openfoam install says it should read

source /opt/openfoam220/etc/bashrc

could this have something to do with my problem?
