my system is a e8400 dual core with 8 gb of 1066 DDR 2 ram and a Nvidia quadro FX570 workstation card. I'm running UGS NX6 CAD on an OpenSuse install and it wasn't happy with the overclocked 8800GT I tried. I got all sorts of strange behavior in sketch mode so I switched to a workstation card. Just more money for less performance but the drivers are different at the software level which is what they approve for NX. I've got a SSD hard drive in my near future as well. I just wish I could figure out how to use multiple cores for NX. Simulations seem to run quite fast and I'll be building a new workstation for the wife(web developer) with my e8400 and putting a quad core into my PC

I drive a dual core 2.4GHz with 4GBs of RAM - I am wondering though; how much can Aster and Salomé actually utilize more than one CPU? I know that only some of the solvers support it - FETI solver i believe?
Code:Saturne kicks ass in that regard.
