Here are install instructions for Salome-Meca 2010 on Ubuntu 10.10:
Please cut and paste this link into your browser. I could not post the link directly.
[code:1]
www.code-aster.org/wiki/doku.php?id=en:Â...ubuntu10.10_compiled
[/code:1]
I wrote these after installing the 64-bit version, but I expect the 32-bit version should install in the same manner.
I also experienced seemingly random segmentation errors in the 2008 version, and they did not go away until I upgraded. I learned to create back-ups of my HDF files after any significant changes, because sometimes a segmentation error would also destroy the working file!
S-M 2010 has been excellent to work with, and you will find Code-Aster has also been much improved since 2008, as it is under contant development. If you can install the latest S-M 2010 this is even superior to the version in CAELinux2010, which is now a little out-of-date.
Good luck! - Tim<br /><br />Post edited by: T. Donley, at: 2011/03/15 22:54

Alessandro,
Bravo! The messages you posted are normal behaviour for Salome-Meca, and only indicates that DSCCODE and PAL are not installed. No problem.
Note that EDF just released a new version of Salome-Meca, but it is only 64-bits. Start saving those coins for a new computer!
Best regards,
Tim D.
