Hoi Bridge,
One of the ''problems'' with Salome/Code Aster I find that you need one single body (for one mesh) to start with and define groups ''below'' this body. You can define groups by the Partition command. In the Salome GUI this is sometimes bit cumbersome, because you can only define one ''dividing plane''. That is why I use a Python script and a number of dividing planes, Extrusion1, 2, 3 and 4. They divide the plane into the five requested areas. In the GUI you can do the same, but it is more time consuming: Operation --> Partition --> ....
Oeps, apparently in Salome5.1.X you can select several ''Tool Objects'', in this case Extrusion1, Extrusion2, Extrusion3 and Extrusion4 in one pass. Makes it much, much easier. So select Operation --> Partition --> Select Object (one selection, total shell area) --> Tool Object (Extrusion1, Extrusion2, Extrusion3 and Extrusion4 --> 4_objects). Very nice now.
We can start a new wiki?
Do you start or do I start, or do we through the dice?
Any comments?
kind regards - kees

I have looked at your's file.
You have very interesting idea,
create single face with partitions for each presure.
I was trying to make single face for each presure,
what couses more problems than your idea.
Which comand you used to create Fbot,Fcentre1,Fcentre2,Ftop,Fmain from Part_main?

I have to check. Donot know whether that is serious ...I try Explode to Faces, but i get icon with one square, your's icons are two squares.
Alright, done that in the second updated files.I think, We need two groups of edges for fixed boundary conditions.

I used my dice
[img]
and my score is 3.
Now it's you'r turn
By the way, i have some problems with quadratic mesh, i must look at some examples.

Hi Bridge,
and my score will be 2 (I know).
In the mesh module, --> Modification --> convert to/from Quadratic --> select mesh --> convert to quadratic, click maybe on Medion nodes on geometry --> apply and close.
Check by right click on the mesh --> numbering --> nodes (you need to see midside nodes).
Export to med file --> mesh.med
this all is much easier in the wiki ....
you win, so you start?<br /><br />Post edited by: Kees Wouters, at: 2010/03/06 13:27
