CAELinux 2020 contains updated versions of the Salome_Meca 2019 with Code-Aster 14.4 FEA suite, OpenFOAM v7 integrated with Helyx-OS GUI for settings up your CFD simulations , SalomeCFD with Code-Saturne 5.3 MPI with an integrated GUI , Calculix integrated in FreeCAD, Calculix Launcher and CAE gui ,ElmerFEM with its GUI, OpenModelica (*) for dynamic system simulation, Freecad 0.18.4 parametric CAD modeler, PyCAM 0.6.4 & Flatcam for 3D milling g-code generation with Camotics for milling simulation, Cura for easy and fast 3D printing (*) g-code generation, Kicad electric design suites with many tools for PCB isolation milling and finally the famous Arduino microcontroller development environment(*), as well as wxMaxima (symbolic math),Python / Spyder 3,,Octave, R, and C/C++/Fortran development environments.

CAELinux 2013 contains updated versions of the Salome_Meca 2013.1 and Code-Aster STA11.3 FEA suite with MPI parallelism solvers, OpenFOAM 2.1.1 integrated with Helyx-OS or Discretizer GUI for settings up your CFD simulations (OpenFOAM 1.6ext is available in the repositories), Code-Saturne 3.0 MPI with a simple wizard GUI to get started easily, Calculix 2.6 FEA Multithread version with its own wizard, ElmerFEM 6.2 with high performance MPI solvers, the latest version of Freecad parametric CAD modeler, a custom PyCAM 0.6 release for 3D milling g-code generation with OpenSCAM for milling simulation, Cura for easy and fast 3D printing g-code generation, GEDA and Kicad electric design suites with many tools for PCB isolation milling and finally the famous Arduino microcontroller development environment.
With these software, Open-Source engineering is continuing its progression towards ease of use, completeness and gets closer to commercial codes!

The CAELinux Team is proud to release its new stable version of CAELinux, named CAELinux 2011.
Highlights
This release is built on an updated Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS 64 bit base with a focus on the upgrade of the CAE softwares and the addition of tutorials & wizards to make your first steps easier.
CAELinux 2011 contains the latest release of the Salome_Meca 2011.2 package developed by EDF (64bit) integrated with two versions of the finite element solver for non-linear mechanics Code-Aster STA11.0 (both 64bits) optimized either for OpenMP or MPI parallelism. Salome_Meca 2011.2 is now based on Salome v6.3 CAD/Pre/Post GUI and allows to run a complete FEA study directly from the SALOME graphical user interface.
CAELinux 2011 also continues to integrate great open source CFD software like Code-Saturne 2.0.2 and OpenFOAM 2.0.1 (both 64bit with MPI support) that can be interfaced with numerous pre processing tools like Salome, GMSH, Netgen, and the more CFD oriented meshers enGrid 1.2 and Discretizer/SnappyHexMesh. CAELinux 2011 now integrates two simple CFD Wizards to setup a a Code-Saturne or OpenFOAM study from a mesh prepared in Salome. With these software, Open-Source FEA & CFD is continuing its progression towards ease of use and parallel computing power to get closer to commercial FEA & CFD codes!
Multiphysics simulation is also very efficiently carried out using Elmer FEM 6.2 (64bit, with MPI & Mumps solver support) and its easy to use ElmerGUI interface. Based on a segregated solver approach for each physics, multiple physical behaviours can easily be coupled with Elmer, for example like: diffusion & heat equation can easily be coupled with Navier-Stokes fluid flow simulation, thermo-mechanical coupling and even fluid-structure interaction.

After one more year of development, we are proud to release our new stable version of CAELinux, called CAELinux 2010. This release is a complete rebuild of CAELinux for X86 64 bit architecture to use the latest Intel / AMD cpus at their maximum. CAELinux 2010 is now based on the latest Long Term Support release of Ubuntu, one of the most popular linux distribution, in order to offer the best possible user experience.
CAELinux 2010 is built on the basis of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS AMD64 distribution with the latest updates and should support the most recent hardwares / chipset for one of the best compatibility and ease of use in the Linux world. It comes with a kernel in version 2.6.32-24 with support for 64 bit memory addressing and multiple CPUs.
Additionnally, CAELinux 2010 contains the latest release of the GPL Salome_Meca 2010 package developed by EDF (64bit) integrated with two versions of the finite element solver Code-Aster STA10.1 (both 64bits) optimized either for OpenMP or MPI parallelism.
