Thats true, but the other elements do support large displacement formulations. You can assign different deformation formulations to different element groups.

I made modifications based on you advice, and the simulation doesn't converge. I will post the .mess file later in the morning ...

For the last update, my model converge but the strain is under-estimated and I still get interpenetrations
